City of Siem Reap

2013 December, The Long Trip, Cambodia - Siem Reap

Siem Reap is a town near one incredible place - Angkor Wat. I found many good places to eat there and a lot of places to stay. Each time when you go out the tuk tuk drivers ask you if you need any ride. I think that life there would be much easier if they didn't ask. But.... This is Cambodia and they think that if they don't ask they won't have customers.
From the city to Angkor Wat the distance is only 8 km. The price for bicycle rentals starts from 1 USD per day. For this price you can have an old one with gears. In the town there are many places where you can exchange currency. Canadia Bank offers ATMs without any fee.
In the town are many new temples and every evening there is a night market where you can buy almost everything.
I heard that you can get a tuk tuk for the whole day to see temples for 11 USD but I didn't use them. After 9 am the starting price was 10 USD - they offered it because they didn't find anyone for sunrise.
