Neuschwanstein - the castle of Ludwig II

A short trip to the Neuschwanstein castle.

DB - Deutsche Bahn offers excellent ticket for a day trip to Bavaria region. The ticket is valid from 2 up to 8 people. It costs 28 Euro for a couple of people and it is valid for regional trains and public transport.
I've already used it a few times. This time I went to Neuschwanstein.  The castle was built by Ludwig II in nineteenth century. Till now I saw it only on Walt Disney's logo. The town near the castle is charming. Old buildings with painting on the walls.  I took a bus and left it near the castle and went for a hike. I found different, well marked routes up to the castle. Apart from the castle there is also a bridge probably as famous as the castle. It's an excellent view. If you seek adrenaline you should try paragliding over the castle and have the view only for yourself. For people who do not like hiking and would like to see the castle there are boat cruises on the lake.

Munich - Dachau

Dachau - a memory of the the tragedy

The first place I visited near Munich was Dachau - a concentration camp memorial.
I was looking for members of my family but I couldn't find anyone. Places like this camp are so upsetting but must see for me personally. I was informed it wasn't the worst camp as people, who were kept there, were 'only' working in factories. It was compared to the Auschwitz Birkenau which was pointed out as the worst one. Nowadays, almost nothing is left there. One barrack, a museum and a crematory. In order to get there, take S-bahn 2 from Munich.

Summary of my Long Trip

2014, May The Long Trip - THE END

This is the end. Almost 2 months passed from the day I finished my trip. I must say I did what I planned to do. Now I wanted to present a short movie summing it up. My trip started in September 2013 in New Zeeland. Afterwards, I visited China, South Korea, Japan, Palau, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Australia which took almost 6 months. I spent an amazing time and met a lot of incredible people. Some of my adventures can be founded on my blog.
Enjoy the movie! I need to find a new destination - any idea?

Melbourne

2014 March, The Long Trip - Australia, Melbourne ZOO

Unexpectedly, my Long Trip finished in Melbourne as my 97 years old grandfather passed away. He was in a good condition and died in an accident.
As I wanted to say a goodbye to all Australian animals I visited ZOO in Melbourne. The entrance fee is 30 AUD (20.10e). If you are lucky you can be there when they feed animals. They have a lot of native species. I spent there almost 3 hours and it was a good time.
Now it is time to go home.
