11th October Peru (Machu Picchu)

At 4:30 am the alarm set off. We ate small breakfast around 5 am and walked to the Machu Picchu. In the city center are buses. One way costs $9 and $17 return. With our new Polish friends we started walking uphill. In the guide we read that it should take around 45 minutes. The stone stairs were really demanding and it took us more than 1 hour.
We got before 7am. We had tickets to the Machu Picchu Mountain too so firstly, we went there. The way up took us 2 hours as we took a lot of pictures on the way. The uncountable steps were the biggest pain. The view from the top was amazing but suddenly, everything was covered by clouds We were lucky to get there before.

The way back was painful and demanding too. The Machu Picchu itself was packed with people. Every day they allow 2500 visitors. It was a miracle to take a picture without other people.

The Machu Picchu complex was incredibly big. We went to the Inka bridge. The path was interesting but the bridge didn't amaze us.
We walked all day there and around 3 pm we went to the Inka Sun Gate. About 30 min walk from the Guardhouse. The path wasn't hard and the view once more was incredible.
The entrance is closed at 4pm but visitors can be there till 5 or 6.
We walked back to our town. A long way to our hostel.

Tomorrow we will try to travel to Cuzco using local transport.
