2nd October Galapagos Santa Cruz Island day 2

At 6 am we started our breakfast as we decided not to waste our time. Afterwards, we walked to Tortuga Bay. From Puerto Ayora, the Binford street leads there. We registered our entrance at 8:30 and went on a marked path to the first beach. It was 40 min walk and we saw a lot of Darwin Finches.

This nice, white sandy beach is a home for Marine Iguanas - but only during a sunny day. I thought so after a hundred meter walk. I was mistaken because soon I saw few iguanas and after another few steps I saw more and more. They were really great and amazing, especially when they slept.

On the rocks we spot a Blue-footed Boobies. On the amazing beach I spotted crabs digging holes.

From the city near the petrol station is a bus stop. We found transport to Santa Rosa - $2 one way for 2 people. We easily found a road to El Chato - more than 4 km walk. On the way through farmlands we saw the first wild giant tortoises. One of them, very big one was near our road but the next one was walking the same direction as we did.
That was amazing. Many of them could have been easily spotted on fields along our way. It was in the afternoon. Finally, we got to some kind of tortoises reserve. We spent there more than 3 hours as there were a lot of those incredible animals.
It was a fantastic day.
