Long Trip – Sydney
to Auckland September 2013
The flight was
short, around 3h with Qantas. The airline is fine, good food and a new plane.
The trip was short as I watched some movies.
When I landed in Auckland I had a security control. The Security Officer had a normal conversation with me, during which he checked a lot of things and asked the same questions in different ways to confirm what he needs. I declared all food I have and they were happy with it and allowed me to visit New Zealand.
I rented a small campervan from Jucy Rentals. They provided me with a free number and when I called them after arrival, they picked me up from the airport.
As there is a problem with free Internet I decided to buy a local sim card and use it for the Internet. Jucy Rentals provided a free wi-fi in their office so I could check emails. Around 2pm I started my trip. I went to Auckland to do some shopping, I didn’t see the city centre as I was in a hurry. Unfortunately, I spent too much time for shopping and eating. The only thing I learned was that from Friday till Monday some supermarkets reduce prices for their products.
It is dark around 6:30 pm here. Near motorway there was a service and petrol station (after Papakura). There was Mc Donald’s too and I spent the night in my campervan without any problems. They told me that there will be a problem with free camping in this car but so far I didn’t find many places where it is forbidden.
