2014, May The Long Trip - THE END

This is the end. Almost 2 months passed from the day I finished my trip. I must say I did what I planned to do. Now I wanted to present a short movie summing it up. My trip started in September 2013 in New Zeeland. Afterwards, I visited China, South Korea, Japan, Palau, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Australia which took almost 6 months. I spent an amazing time and met a lot of incredible people. Some of my adventures can be founded on my blog.

Way to Kota Bharu

2014 February, The Long Trip - Malaysia

I had my flight in the evening from Kota Bharu, it was easy to take a boat even when I didn't have my ticket yet. They charged me 35 MYR (7.75e) and after 30 minutes I was in Kuala Besut. It was an easy ride as the sea was calm. The local bus to Kota Bharu costs 6 MYR (1.33e) and the bus to the airport costs 1.8 MYR (0.4e). Kota Bharu is a tourist place where you can try batic and visit some old places - I couldn't find anything for myself. In the tourist information near an old village they have free postcards for tourists and all information about Malaysia.

Walk from the village to Coral Bay

In case you would like to visit a village or just walk to a different beach you can go for an 1 hour walk to the village. It shouldn't take more than 1 hour unless you stop on the way for a swim.
The path starts near the Senja Resort on Coral Bay and it goes close to the sea. If you start from the village you need to go to a small beach and from there is a path. Photos shows the latest option.

Shark Point

2014 February, The Long Trip - Malaysia, Blacktip Reef Shark



The Shark Point is a place with high probability to see a blacktip reef shark. As I was there almost every day I learned that shallow water is the best to spot them. I was waiting with no move and the shark was closer and closer to me. You can walk to this place if you are on Besar Island.
This shark shouldn't attack humans if he is not hungry. Although, he is a shark and everybody should pay attention.
