I should write something about Phuket. It is a quiet place compared to Patong. The taxi from the airport should cost around 500 THB (12e) plus airport fee 100 THB (this applies for O-Meter Taxi). If you are alone find other people to share costs, take a local bus or the O-Meter Taxi.
All pick ups for tours booked via agencies start in Phuket so staying there you usually spend much more time for transfers. Once return trip took me almost 3h instead of 1.5.
When you buy any trip, always negotiate the price and try to find the cheapest option. If you have time you will get a good one. A bus from bus terminal 2 to bus terminal 1 costs 10 THB (1.2e). Dniner costs from 130 THB (4e) plus drinks, they serve moderate portions. I found one place where dinner cost 40 THB (1e) it was a local place near the corner of Thalang Rd. and Thepkasattri Rd., named Kha Nom Jeen Thaew Nam Restaurant.
Sometimes, I ordered two portions and it was still cheaper than in other places. The food was delicious here and they had great lemonade.
From Thailand I sent a parcel to Poland. By air, it costs 950 THB (24e) for first kg + 350 THB (8e) for each more. Postcards were from 5 up to 20 THB (0.1 to 0.5e) and a stamp to Europe 15 THB (0.4e)
