9th October Galapagos Baltra Island

The last day on the Galapagos Island we started at 7 am. We packed our baggage and walked to the bus stop. Of course, a lot of taxi drivers asked us if we need a taxi to the airport. On our bus stop local people told us that the bus terminal to the airport is further but they couldn't tell us how far. They said that we need to take a taxi for $1. The terminal wasn't so far away.
From the bus terminal we took a bus to the canal $1.80 per person, a boat to Baltra for $ 0.90 per person and then a free bus to the terminal on the Baltra Island.

Now we are in a wooden terminal waiting for our flight to Peru. I was told that in December they will open a new, modern terminal.

8th October Galapagos Santa Cruz

This day we decided to buy a half day tour. We have our agency where we book all our cruises. Unfortunately, all morning trips were booked. We took the afternoon one.
Our morning time we spent on the beach and in shops.

Before 2pm we were in the office to collect wetsuits. 11 people were on this trip. Our local guide didn't have any kind of shoes so he walked barefoot.

The first place was the Las Grietas. We get there by a taxi to the Eco Hotel Finch Bay and we walked to this canyon with water. The distance wasn't so long and at the end we had time to swim there. The water was incrediblly clear and warm - comparing to the open sea. There were 5 big fish and a lot off small ones.

The next stop was near a small island called 'Punta NuEez' where is a sea lion reserve. We played with this amazing animals. It was fantastic experience and they welcomed us and when we jumped into water they swam close to us.

The last stop was on 'Playa de los Perros' There is a tunnel where sharks and rays rest. We saw few sharks from a pedestrian way and rays too.
Of course, it was really hard to take a picture of them.

We were back after 5. We walked to the non tourist part of the city and on Paul Carrasco street we found cheap local food. A lot of local people eat there so we also tried.
It was a big fried dumpling with chicken for $1.

Tomorrow in the afternoon we have our flights to Peru.

7th October Galapagos Santa Cruz

We are back to Santa Cruz.
This time we had a boat with 3 engines which was really fast. There was only 5 people so we had a lot of space. This time the sea wasn't so rough but in our opinion, we had few dangerous situations.

We chatted with an American family and they landed in San Cristobal, spent some days there and now went to Santa Cruz for another couple of days and have a flight from here.

We went to the same hotel 'New Elisabeth' as before. The lady recognised us and gave the same room.

During the day we visited LAN office as they did some changes in our flights. They also told us that there are 3 buses daily to the airport. The first one at 7:00, the second at 7:30 and the last one at 8:30 from the Citteg bus stop near the petrol station, about 2km from the centre.

Once more we visited the Tourtuga Bay to see iguanas and pelicans.

The day was lazy and relaxing but we needed it.

5th October Galapagos San Cristobal

The first night was quite good.

For this day we planned a 3km walk from Puerto Baquerizo, where we stay to La Loberia beach - near the airport. They told us that there will be a good place to see sea turtles. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't so good and we enjoyed our time with sea lions and iguanas.

We went for a walk up to cliffs to see some birds.

When we returned to the town we asked once more about a place to see the sea turtles. One helpful man told us that we need to go to Punta Carola.
He was absolutely right. It was a perfect place to see them.
The sea was a little bit rough so water wasn't so clear but the feeling was amazing.

After a good time with the sea turtles and the sea lions we went for a walk to 'Las Tijeretas' On the way was a nice beach for snorkeling, from the top was an amazing view.

It was a very good day.

6th October Galapagos San Cristobal

After a short time in the Luis' House I can say that the owner tried to cheat almost all the time. If you decide to stay here you need to be careful.

This day I decided to have a day tour to the Kicker Rock.
The tour started at 9am and we were boarded on a small catamaran.
It was a snorkeling trip. The price $50 including a wetsuit and snorkeling equipment.

The first snorkeling place was a 'Isla Lobos'.
Our tour guide was first in the water with their rescue wheel. It was a good option for people who don't feel good in the ocean and from time to time need a break.
This place was amazing, a lot of different fish, sea lions in the water and turtles too.

After 45 min there we went to the Kicker Rock where the first swimming place was between two rocks. Our catamaran left us on one side and we swam above sharks to the other side.
Unfortunately, the sharks were about 7 meters below us. Of course, the first feeling was incredible.
Near the rock we had a lunch break and we saw a whale who played with us. It was a good game, everybody was searching for him and he appeared somewhere unexpectedly. Afterwards, we had another 30 minutes of snorkeling and one shark was really close to me - it was a 1 meter baby shark.

The last stop for snorkeling was on a sandy beach. I knew that we were going there but for me it wasn't nothing special as I couldn't see anything in the water.

We arrived at 4pm and I went to the Carola Point to swim with the turtles.

Tomorrow at 6.30 local time we have our transfer to Santa Cruz.

4th October Galapagos( San Cristobal Island) day 4

It was a lazy day as our boat to San Cristobal was at 2pm local time.
All boats are more than 100 meters from the pier. To get to your boat you need to take a water taxi. When we had a day trip we didn't pay for it. The taxi was included in the price. This time we paid $0.50 per person.

2 hours trip was horrible - there were  very big waves and a lot of clouds on the sky.

We arrived to our destination at 4:25 and we found a hostel for $20 per couple per night. The place is called the Luis house.

We noted that all souvenirs here are cheaper than on Santa Cruz, the same t-sirt costs $4 less. We found a local 'restaurant' where a big portion of chicken plus chips costs $3.
We went to the 'Mann beach' where we saw a lot of sea lions and a nice sunset.

3rd October Galapagos (Floreana Island) day 3

More pictures from the third day on Galapagos Islands (Floreana Island)

3rd October Galapagos (Floreana Island) day 3

As we are on holidays so we woke up as usually at 6am. This time without any plans. We thought about a half day boat trip. We asked about the price but we weren't satisfied. It was few minutes past 8 when we asked for a day trip in Dava Tours we trade with the guy and we bought return ticket to San Cristobal for $45each and a last minute day trip to Floreana Island (Darvin) for $55 each.
It was a perfect decision and a deal. 2h one way boat ride wit a small stop to see jumping dolphins, and we got to the island. On the island travelling by 'bus' we arrived to a small turtles reserve where we saw once more these amazing animals. There weren't so afraid of people walking on their territory.
We saw the Pirates caves and a place with fresh water, I've spotted a camping place too.

After this incredible experience we had a lunch and 30 min of free time. We went to the black beach to make some pictures of  sea lions. Near the harbour there were many sea lions waiting for guests to take  photos of them. In the water there was a sea tourtle. It was amazing to see him there.

The last stop was a very cold snoorkeling place. Only few people decided to jump to the water. I've saw a penguin swimming very close to me and a sea lion too. There were a lot of big and colourful fish but any sea tourtles :(

We were back around 5pm. It was really worth to buy this trip.
