2014 January, The Long Trip - Thailand, Erawan
Buses from Kanchanaburi to Erawan Falls run every hour and cost 50 THB (1.12e) one way. The bus I took was old but in good condition. The driver did really take care of his vehicle. My journey took around 2 hours.
The entrance fee to the national park is 200 THB (4.47e). A seven-tiered cascade waterfall is the main attraction for both Thai and foreign tourists. It is a long way to get to the top waterfall. It took me around 1 hour but it is definitely worth it. On each marked spot you can enjoy your time laying or swimming in very cold water. Fish Spa could be enjoyed as well, for free :-)
The last bus to Kanchanaburi left at 4 pm. It was packed with people. Around 1.5 km from the park is the Erawan Market. I think some extra buses to Kanchanaburi might leave from there too. If you wish you can spend a night or two inside the national park, too.
