The flight from Lima to Quito was fast and pleasant. I was positively surprised by LAN thanks to their service quality. Quito looked impressive from the plane, situated on an incredibly big area with some districts cut by gorges. The landing wasn't so good as the plane slightly skidded sideways.
But the most awfull experience was waiting for us at the immigration office desk. We were lucky enough to arrive before 2 more flights. Still, it took us 1 hour to go through. Each oFficer has his own talkactive interpreter and technical problems with their software. Finally, we left the airport 2 hours after arrival.
Our hostel Terra Hostal (Jorge Piedra str) was within walking distance from the Quito airport. It took 7 minutes to get there. It was good value for the money spent. Noone was speaking English, though the called for help of English speaking lady.
Cafe Mosaico- we met there Ola and Ruben from CS. The cafe is a fantastic view point, at night the city looked impressive, well lid, situated on mountains slopes. After the meeting, we took a taxi to the old part of the city for a short walk and back to our hostel for desreved rest.
In the morning, we had a flight to Guayaquil where we're waiting for another flight to Galapagos.
